Question ABS pump & module change

I need to change my ABS unit and was wondering about the part number difference, mine is 8619537 and the replacement would be a different part number, would this cause problems ? Quick reply would be much appreciated.

Hello, If the old part number was superceded, which is a common, there'd be no problem. There may be differences in the parts. Hopefully the new part number reflects improvements to the original design. Where did you get the new part number? Are you doing this repair yourself? Removing the ABS unit and sending it out for repair is easy and commonly done. You can drive without the ABS controller installed; you just won't have ABS. PM me for the repair guy's name. Every time I post a name or web address the post vanishes. Kira

I was looking on eBay, to buy a complete unit, various numbers, ie 8619534 which is 3 back from my existing one, there are also components starting 9....... I was going to give it to my 'repair man' to fit then MOT the car (it's out) plus try to keep the costs down. Thanks for the quick reply.
